Telambang Walkthrough (Missions 1 to 3)
Telambang is the prologue of Marvel's Wolverine, Missions 1 to 3 (Back in Action, A Debt Repaid and Last Meal): Logan rejoins Team X to rescue Nathaniel Essex from Bolivar Trask's jungle compound and ends it by fighting Omega Red. It has no collectibles and takes about an hour.
Telambang is the prologue of Marvel's Wolverine: three missions, Back in Action, A Debt Repaid and Last Meal, in which Logan comes back to Team X for one job, getting Nathaniel Essex out of Bolivar Trask's compound in the jungle, and leaves with Essex, Trask's attention and a fight with Omega Red behind him. It teaches the basics (claws and kicks, stealth from the undergrowth, Rage, the first Special Techniques) and has no collectibles at all; IGN Guides' run of all three missions, the boss included, lasts just under an hour. The clip is the start of that run, as Team X goes in 48 hours after Essex was taken.

Before the first mission
The game opens on a memory: years ago, a wild Logan is found and calmed by a man offering "a home here for people who are special like you", who introduces himself as Nathaniel Essex. In the present, Essex has led Team X, his mutant task force, until Trask took him; Logan left the team three years before and is back only for this. The cutscene sets up everything the prologue is about, and the Story page has the rest of who these people are.
Mission 1: Back in Action
What happens. Team X lands near Trask's base in Telambang: anti-aircraft guns, a private army and Reavers, Trask's cyborg mercenaries. Logan has to take out the AA gun so Mystique's aircraft can come in, while Sabretooth needles him about leaving. Then the team's aircraft goes down and Omega Red, an old member of Team X whom Essex threw out, turns up hunting Logan; in IGN Guides' run Logan's reaction is "Of course, Omega Red's working for Trask."
What to do. This is the tutorial. Fight the guards at the AA gun and destroy it, use the tall grass for stealth kills, and follow Sabretooth through the jungle against the Reavers; Victor fights alongside you and splits off to deal with Omega Red. Break the glowing canisters on the way: IGN Guides notes they are not counted collectibles but give XP every time, and 100 of them earn Cache Crusher. Readable objects and audio logs are lore, also not counted.
The fake town. Over the compound wall is a whole fake town, which Logan compares to "one of those towns where they test nukes". Mutant detectors go off as you pass, and you have to check each one for Essex. In IGN Guides' run the answer is grim: it is where Trask trains his men to hunt mutants, with collared mutants as the quarry, and Logan's line is that the hunters "are about to become the hunted". The mission ends at a sewer grate next to the main gate, the way in.
Collectibles: none.
Mission 2: A Debt Repaid
What happens. Logan follows a scent trail out of the sewers, full of bodies, and joins Mystique, who has found Trask's labs: "Trask has been studying us." The way to Essex runs through them, In IGN Guides' run the line "I'm just paying my debt" comes up in the team's argument in the jungle, which the mission's name echoes.
Trask. At the lab's door an inhibitor field stops Mystique's shapeshifting, and Trask himself appears ("call me Bolivar") to collar them. In IGN Guides' run Logan cuts them free with his claws, painfully ("This is really going to hurt"); after that, destroy the mutant inhibitors, use a security terminal to find where Trask went and fight your way into the prison block. PowerPyx ties Hot Head, for reaching Rage Tier 3, to this mission.
What to do. Unlock Special Techniques as your level rises. IGN Guides calls Knee Breaker "the most important skill you can get early", because it adds so much stagger against bosses and minibosses; GamingBolt's skills guide has it at level 4, after Tornado Spin at level 2. The full tree is on Skills: Techniques and Adaptations.
Essex. At the end of the cell block Logan finds Essex alive ("You came back"), weak and hurt, and has to clear a path to the landing pad for the team's escape while Reavers pour in. Losing Victor on the way is part of the script.
Collectibles: none.
Mission 3: Last Meal
The landing pad is where Omega Red catches up: "My children together again." The whole mission is the fight with him, the game's first boss, a three-phase test of parrying his tentacle attacks, dodging the heavy ones and hitting back in the windows. Bring Knee Breaker if you have it. Beating him earns Omega Dead, and the mission ends with Essex asking for "a sample" from the body. Every phase is on Omega Red Boss Fight.
In Dan Allen Gaming's recording of the fight, Omega Red stops partway through to explain his name: "Omega, it means the end, because I am the last thing my victims ever see." His grudge is with the team that rejected him, which is why he talks to Logan through the whole fight. No collectibles.
How long Telambang takes
IGN Guides' recorded run of all three missions lasts 59 minutes 42 seconds, cutscenes and boss included; Mission 1 is the longest, about 25 minutes of it, and Omega Red takes about ten. Since there is nothing to collect, a first run should take about the same. Rage, the Healing Factor and Last Stand, which the prologue puts to work, are covered on Combat and Rage.
We think Telambang is a strong opening: the fake town is one of the most memorable places in the game, and the prologue does the job of showing Team X as a broken family in under an hour. Our advice is to spend the first Technique Points on Knee Breaker before Omega Red, and to play this part on a difficulty you will keep, since the parry timing it teaches is the one the whole game uses (Difficulty Settings and Accessibility).
