Omega Red Boss Fight

Omega Red is the first boss of Marvel's Wolverine, fought at the end of Mission 3, Last Meal, in Telambang. Parry his blue and yellow tentacle attacks to fill his yellow stagger bar, dodge everything that glows red, and punish him only while he is staggered.

To beat Omega Red in Marvel's Wolverine, parry his blue and yellow attacks until his yellow stagger bar fills, dodge everything that glows red, and hit him hard only while he is staggered. He is the first boss of the game, fought at the end of Mission 3, Last Meal, and the color rule is the one to learn here: in Arekkz Gaming's Sep 16, 2026 combat tips, illustrated with footage of this first boss fight, red attacks are power attacks that "can't be parried", so you dodge them, while yellow attacks are reckless attacks that give you a special parry chance to punish the enemy.

Where the Omega Red fight happens

The fight closes Last Meal, the third and last Telambang mission, inside Trask's compound. In AFGuidesHD's Sep 14, 2026 recording of every boss, it opens with Omega Red greeting Logan with "My children together again" and taunting him about how weak he looks, and the two trade lines about Team X turning Omega Red away while the tentacles start swinging. The story behind the grudge is on Characters; the route to the arena is on the Telambang walkthrough.

IGN's Sep 10, 2026 review singles this fight out as one of the good ones: the reviewer says the boss fights are "surprisingly few" and similar in design but well made, and describes chipping away at Omega Red's stagger bar "via well-timed parries". That is the whole fight in a sentence, and it is also the lesson the rest of the game's bosses repeat.

Phase 1: parry, dodge red, then punish

The first phase plays out under a running argument in AFGuidesHD's recording: Omega Red says the Reavers at least do not care "what or who I crave", Logan says he should have killed him when he had the chance, and Omega Red answers that he has been waiting "so patiently" for this fight. Game Rant's Sep 15, 2026 boss guide by Jake Fillery puts the tactic plainly: "Blue-highlighted attacks (and yellow ones) can be parried", and each parry fills his stagger bar; the red-aura attacks, when he throws objects with his tendrils, are dodged.

KeenGamer's Sep 17, 2026 boss guide by Solomon Jackson adds the rule that saves the most health: do not trade hits with him. Create distance after a red attack, come back in, and rely on staggering him again and again rather than on damage between his strings.

Two meters decide the fight. In Arekkz Gaming's tips, Rage builds as you attack and gets you a Last Stand, and bosses carry a yellow stagger bar beneath their health; breaking it gives you "an opportunity to jump on them" with your strongest attacks. A barrage on a staggered enemy is also one of the best ways to build Rage, so the two feed each other. How Rage works in general is on Combat and Rage.

Phase 2: faster strings, shorter openings

In AFGuidesHD's recording the fight breaks after Logan's "What's that you said about regret?", and Omega Red gets back up calling for Essex and asking whether Logan thought he would die so easily. He then explains his name: red is the easy guess, but "omega" means the end, "because I am the last thing my victims ever see". This is the second phase: KeenGamer says it keeps the same mechanics but Omega Red becomes noticeably more aggressive, with faster strings and shorter openings, so attack only after you have dodged or parried a whole combo. Game Rant gives the same advice: dodge or parry, then strike when it is safe.

The second phase also adds voices around the arena. In AFGuidesHD's recording Reavers call out "Surround him" and "Close in", and Omega Red orders them to stay back and stand down, then turns on Logan for being "no better than the rest of the world". He keeps talking through the rest of the fight about Russia and about Team X throwing him out, which tells you the arena is still his alone.

Finishing him

When the stagger bar breaks, jump on him. Arekkz Gaming points out that both finishers that work on ordinary enemies work on a boss you have jumped on: a barrage (tap Square) to build Rage, or the Healing Strike (Triangle, once unlocked) to deal heavy damage and get back a chunk of health "in the middle of a boss fight". We think the Healing Strike is the better pick against Omega Red whenever you are below half health, because his second phase punishes a low health bar more than a slow kill.

The fight ends with Logan's "Where's your team now?" and Omega Red going down. Essex's voice then asks Logan to "grab a sample" for the vault, the first hint of what Essex does with mutants, which the Story page follows. Omega Dead unlocks here.

Attacks to dodge or parry

Attack Tell What to do
Tentacle swings and strings Blue glow Parry (L1) to fill the yellow bar
Reckless attacks Yellow glow Parry for a punishing counter
Tendril throws and power attacks Red aura Dodge, make distance, then come back in
Phase 2 strings Faster, shorter gaps Dodge or parry the whole combo before attacking
Staggered Yellow bar empty Barrage for Rage, or Healing Strike for health

Assembled by us from Game Rant's and KeenGamer's boss guides, PowerPyx's note that a parry is L1 on "blue glowing attacks" (trophy guide), and Arekkz Gaming's color rules.

Omega Red comes so early that the build is mostly what the game has given you. The Technique that matters is Knee Breaker: in Arekkz Gaming's tips it deals "a huge amount of stagger damage" to bosses, and the charged leap (hold Triangle, once unlocked) closes the gap and adds stagger too. Per GamingBolt's Special Techniques guide, Tornado Spin unlocks at level 2 and Knee Breaker at level 4; the later Techniques (Relentless at 7, Spiral Strike at 13) are not available yet. Points and unlock levels are on Skills: Techniques and Adaptations.

How hard is Omega Red?

In our view Omega Red is the hardest boss relative to your build, because he arrives before you have the Techniques and Adaptations that soften the later fights, and his second phase leaves little room between strings. The fix is patience rather than damage, as KeenGamer and Game Rant both stress: finish a whole combo safely, then punish. If the timing is the problem, the dodge and parry timing windows can be widened in the settings (Difficulty Settings and Accessibility).
