Bosses

Marvel's Wolverine has five story bosses, in this order: Omega Red (Mission 3), the Sentinel Prototype (Mission 11), Lady Deathstrike (Mission 20), Sabretooth (Mission 25) and Nathaniel Essex as Mister Sinister (Mission 29). Each has its own trophy and its own guide page.

Marvel's Wolverine has five story bosses: Omega Red, the Sentinel Prototype, Lady Deathstrike, Sabretooth and, last, Nathaniel Essex as Mister Sinister. That is few for a 30-mission game, and IGN's Sep 10, 2026 review says so: its reviewer calls the boss fights "surprisingly few" and "remarkably similar in design, but well executed", praising Omega Red and calling the Sentinel fight the weak one. This page lists them in order with where each happens; the tactics live on each boss's own page.

Quick facts

Story bosses 5
First boss Omega Red, Mission 3
Final boss Mister Sinister (Nathaniel Essex), Mission 29
Boss trophies 5 story trophies, plus Harmer's Market in the Sabretooth fight (PowerPyx)
Missable? No: every boss can be replayed through mission select (New Game Plus and Mission Replay)
Common rule Dodge red attacks, parry the rest to fill the yellow stagger bar

All bosses in order

The order and mission numbers come from KeenGamer's mission list and PowerPyx's mission names; the trophy names from PowerPyx's trophy guide. The last two rows are late-game spoilers by name alone.

How boss fights work in Marvel's Wolverine

Every boss runs on the same two meters as ordinary enemies (Combat and Rage): health, and a yellow stagger bar under it. In Arekkz Gaming's Sep 16, 2026 combat tips, breaking that bar gives you "an opportunity to jump on them" with your strongest attacks, and a barrage on a staggered enemy also builds Rage. Earlier in the same video the color rule is spelled out: red attacks "can't be parried" and must be dodged, while parries (L1 on blue-glowing attacks, per PowerPyx) fill the bar. The same split runs through all five fights, with each boss adding its own twist: the Sentinel's arms, Deathstrike's speed, Sabretooth's healing, Essex's flight.

Two bosses are fought with help. Against the Sentinel Prototype, R1 calls Mystique, who staggers the robot at once when both its arms are close to its body (Game Rant, KeenGamer), and in AFGuidesHD's recording Sabretooth arrives for the outdoor half with "Let's rip this tin can open". In the final fight Jean and Shiro fight beside Logan. The other three are one on one.

Boss by boss in one line

Omega Red greets Logan with "My children together again" at the end of the Telambang chapter in AFGuidesHD's Sep 14, 2026 recording of every boss. One line: dodge red, parry plain, watch his chest for the grabs. Full guide.

The Sentinel Prototype is Trask's machine, switched on in the same recording with "Mutant detected. Exterminate." One line: dodge the slam, hit the arm on the ground, call Mystique. Full guide.

Lady Deathstrike of the Hand tells Logan on Mount Haku that "you and I are exactly where we're supposed to be". One line: keep L1 ready and parry her yellow sword slash and her claw strings. Full guide.

Sabretooth arrives in the same recording right after Essex's "Goodbye, Logan", with "Didn't I cut that arm off?", and fights Logan in a Lowtown market whose stalls are a trophy: slash them all for Harmer's Market (PowerPyx). One line: keep staggering him so he cannot heal. Full guide.

Mister Sinister is the final fight. In AFGuidesHD's Sep 14, 2026 recording, Shiro arrives saying Tokyo is "under attack by a giant robot", and Essex opens with "Last chance to stop this". One line: parry what you can, dodge the red, and expect the fight to change shape more than once. Full guide (spoilers).

Which boss is the hardest? Our ranking

This is our opinion, from the recorded runs above and the reviews, not a published ranking.

  1. Sabretooth: the most to manage: a blinded section, a Sentinel mid-fight, and healing that undoes sloppy play.
  2. Omega Red: easy on paper, but he comes before you have the Techniques and Adaptations that soften the later fights, and his second phase is faster with shorter openings (KeenGamer).
  3. Mister Sinister: long and busy, but helped by allies and by the skills of a full playthrough.
  4. Lady Deathstrike: the fastest boss, yet her openings are long once she is staggered.
  5. Sentinel Prototype: slow and predictable; IGN's complaint about "whacking a metal arm for 15 minutes" is the fight's real difficulty.

We think the small count is the game's weakest point as an action game, and we expect any story DLC to add bosses before anything else; our reasoning is on Predictions.
