Lady Deathstrike Boss Fight
Lady Deathstrike is the third boss of Marvel's Wolverine, fought in Mission 20, Death's Match, on Mount Haku in Japan. Keep L1 ready, parry her yellow ranged sword slash and her close stabs, counter with short claw strings, and in the second half, once she drops the sword for her claws, parry even more.
To beat Lady Deathstrike in Marvel's Wolverine, keep your parry (L1) ready the whole time, parry her yellow ranged sword slash and her close stabs, and answer each opening with a short string of claw attacks before she starts her next sequence. She is the third boss, fought in Mission 20, Death's Match, on Mount Haku. Game Rant's Sep 15, 2026 boss guide by Jake Fillery calls it "a battle of the parry", because she is "extremely agile and fast"; IGN's Sep 22, 2026 recording of the fight opens on her boast that her flesh and bone are "shaped by the power of my will".

Where the Lady Deathstrike fight happens
Death's Match is the second-last Japan mission, on Mount Haku. In AFGuidesHD's Sep 14, 2026 recording, Deathstrike tells Logan "you and I are exactly where we're supposed to be", that it is "fate". The route there is on the Japan walkthrough; why she hates Logan is on Characters (with spoilers flagged).
The argument during the fight is about "the beast", the god the Hand worships: she calls something "my connection to the beast", Logan answers that the beast does not care about her, and she replies that "the price of heresy is death". What the beast is belongs to Ending Explained; for the fight, the dialogue marks the start of the first phase.
Phase 1: the sword
IGN Guides' Sep 17, 2026 Japan walkthrough reaches the sword phase here, with the same "My flesh, my bone" boast and Logan's "You ain't that good". KeenGamer's Sep 17, 2026 boss guide by Solomon Jackson gives the tactic: she is very fast, so hold L1 and react to her close-range stabs and slashes rather than attacking into them. Parry her yellow ranged projectile, the sword slash she throws from a distance, then counter and land a short claw string when an opening appears.
This is the fight where the parry and dodge perks pay off. Arekkz Gaming's Sep 16, 2026 combat tips recommend getting "any perks related to parry and dodging techniques" as soon as you can, naming the dodge retaliate and power attack counters and the advanced parry, because "you're going to be parrying and dodging constantly anyway". Against Deathstrike that is literally true: every opening comes from a parry or a well-timed dodge.
The first phase ends on the dialogue in AFGuidesHD's recording: she says her blade "should have drained your life dry", and Logan answers that she will pay for what she did to Walter. Per KeenGamer and Game Rant, enough parries and strikes force her to drop the sword, which starts the second phase.
Phase 2: the claws
In IGN's recording the second phase starts with "You're very bad at dying" and Logan's "Come and show me how it's done", and she answers with her claws against his. KeenGamer says she becomes more aggressive at close range now, so block her rapid strings with L1 before answering with your own attacks and abilities; Game Rant calls this half even more parry-heavy and says to be ready to spam L1 and counter.
The second half is fought beside lava. In AFGuidesHD's recording Deathstrike invites Logan to fight "your claws versus mine" and warns him that if he comes close he will be "consumed by the heat"; Logan mocks her as "just a pig with knives" without her abilities. We think the arena edge is worth avoiding in this half: the guides do not dwell on the lava, but the fight's own lines keep pointing at it.
In IGN's recording she calls on the beast to "show me your world on fire" while the fight goes on, and Logan calls her delusional. Keep the rhythm from the first phase: let her finish a string, parry what you can, then strike.
Near the end she laughs that "the Hand is eternal", then the fight closes with "You're going to burn" and her call to her lord. IGN's recording ends the fight a few seconds later.
In IGN Guides' walkthrough the last line is Logan's "Nobody's listening", answering her "Hear me, my lord". Struck Dead unlocks with the win.
Attacks to dodge or parry
| Attack | Phase | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Close-range stabs and slashes | 1 | Hold L1 and react; parry, then counter |
| Yellow ranged sword slash | 1 | Parry it, then close in |
| Opening after a parry | 1 | A short claw string, then reset |
| Rapid claw strings at close range | 2 | Block and parry with L1, then answer |
| Aggressive pressure | 2 | Parry more, attack less; use abilities in the gaps |

Recommended skills
Arekkz Gaming's setup for most of the game suits this fight: Knee Breaker for stagger damage, Tornado Spin for space and Rage, Relentless so a heal is always ready, and later Overwhelm, a charging grab. Per GamingBolt's Special Techniques guide, Overwhelm unlocks at level 22, so a lower-level Logan swaps in Spiral Strike (level 13). We think Extended Parry is the Adaptation that matters most here, because nearly every opening in both phases starts with a parry. Details of each are on Skills: Techniques and Adaptations.
How hard is Lady Deathstrike?
In our view she is the quickest boss in the game but not the hardest: her moves are mostly parryable, so the fight rewards a steady L1 more than fast hands, and both guides treat her as a parry test rather than a damage race. If her speed is the problem, slowing combat speed in the settings is an option (Difficulty Settings and Accessibility).
