Sabretooth Boss Fight
Sabretooth is the fourth boss of Marvel's Wolverine, fought in Mission 25, Red Right Hand, in Madripoor's Lowtown. Parry his standard attacks, dodge what you cannot counter, keep staggering him so his healing factor cannot undo your damage, watch his silhouette and hit every prompt while Logan is blinded, and slash every market stall at the start for the Harmer's Market trophy.
Spoiler warning: this page names who turns on whom in the late game (Mission 25). The story itself is on Story and the ending on Ending Explained.
To beat Sabretooth in Marvel's Wolverine, parry his standard attacks, dodge anything you cannot safely counter, punish the gap at the end of each combo, and keep his stagger bar filling, because his own healing factor re-heals the damage you deal. He is the fourth boss, fought in Mission 25, Red Right Hand, in Lowtown, and in IGN Guides' Sep 18, 2026 Back to Madripoor walkthrough he arrives right after Essex's "Goodbye, Logan". Game Rant's Sep 15, 2026 boss guide by Jake Fillery sums him up: he fights dirty, so "keep on top of those staggers".

Where the Sabretooth fight happens
Red Right Hand is the fourth mission of the return to Madripoor. In AFGuidesHD's Sep 15, 2026 recording, Essex has just turned on Logan when Sabretooth arrives, and Logan's first question is about the arm: "Didn't I cut that arm off?" Sabretooth answers that the Helix Engine "did wonders" for him, and asks Essex to let him take Logan himself. The road to this point is on the Return to Madripoor walkthrough.
Phase 1: the market
The fight starts in a market, with Sabretooth's "Turn you inside out" and "Bring it on, runt" in AFGuidesHD's recording. That market is where the Harmer's Market trophy comes from, "Destroy all vendor stalls during the Sabretooth boss fight": PowerPyx's Sep 14, 2026 trophy guide says to slash all the market stalls at the start of the fight, and that a stall left standing can be fixed by replaying the mission after the story. We think it is easiest to break the stalls before you commit to the fight, while his attacks are still the simple ones.
The first phase is personal. Logan tells Sabretooth that Essex is "kidnapping dormant mutants right now" and asks why he would side with him; Sabretooth answers that "the only scream I care about is yours", and boasts that the engine's voice talked to him in a way it never talked to Logan. KeenGamer's Sep 17, 2026 boss guide by Solomon Jackson gives the plan for this phase: parry his standard attacks, dodge whatever you cannot safely counter, and punish the recovery window at the end of his combos.
The healing is the twist. Game Rant warns that he "can use his healing factor to re-heal the damage" you deal, and KeenGamer says to keep building stagger so he never gets the long gaps he needs to heal. In AFGuidesHD's recording the insults keep coming meanwhile ("I'm going to squash you like a bug"), and Logan asks whether the engine fried his brain.
The blind section
Partway through, Sabretooth blinds Logan. In AFGuidesHD's recording he says he would rather "watch you stumble around, lost, confused, and then, pounce", and taunts "Cat got your eyes?" while Logan shouts for him to show himself. Game Rant says you must make out his silhouette to counter, and that a failed counter leads into quick-time events that "prove fatal if you miss an input"; KeenGamer agrees: sense his position from the silhouette and answer every prompt.
IGN Guides' walkthrough reaches the same taunt at this point of its run. We think the blind section is the one place in the fight to slow down: watch for the outline, wait for the prompt, and press it at once.
Final phase
The last phase opens with an interruption. In AFGuidesHD's recording a Sentinel's "Mutant detected" cuts in, and KeenGamer describes what happens: a Sentinel grabs Wolverine, and Sabretooth knocks it out of the sky with a food cart so that he can finish the fight himself.
Then it is a straight brawl again. In AFGuidesHD's recording Sabretooth says Logan "destroyed our family" and threatens to kill "the redhead" next. Game Rant calls this final section a straightforward brawl where Logan's own healing factor lets him shrug off damage; KeenGamer says to go back to the same parry-and-punish rhythm as the first phase.
In AFGuidesHD's recording Sabretooth says the engine's voice understood him and he feels "1,000%", and the two trade threats to the end ("One of us is about to be dead").
KeenGamer says the fight ends at a cliff. In AFGuidesHD's recording the last exchange is Sabretooth's "You don't have the stones" and Logan's "Everything Essex ever told us was a lie". Had To Put Him Down unlocks with the win. What happens to Sabretooth after the story is on Ending Explained.
Attacks to dodge or parry
| Situation | Phase | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Standard attacks | 1 and final | Parry to fill the stagger bar |
| Attacks you cannot counter safely | 1 and final | Dodge |
| End of a combo | 1 and final | Punish the recovery window |
| Healing | 1 and final | Keep staggering him so he has no gap to heal |
| Blinded | Blind section | Watch his silhouette; answer every quick-time prompt |
| Market stalls | Start | Slash them all for Harmer's Market |

Recommended skills
Against a boss who heals, anything that staggers fast is worth its slot. Arekkz Gaming's Sep 16, 2026 combat tips single out Overwhelm, the late charging grab, as "really useful against bosses" because it mounts them at once for a barrage, and earlier in the same video name Knee Breaker as the Technique for stagger damage. GamingBolt's Special Techniques guide lists Knee Breaker at level 4, Relentless at 7, Spiral Strike at 13 and Overwhelm at 22. We think the three recharge Adaptations (Parry, Combo Ender and Dodge Recharge) are the real answer to Sabretooth's healing: more Knee Breakers mean more staggers, and every stagger takes away a chance to heal. The trees are on Skills: Techniques and Adaptations.
