Return to Madripoor Walkthrough (Missions 22 to 30)
The last chapter of Marvel's Wolverine, Missions 22 to 30 (Way Down Low to Brave New World), takes Logan and Jean back to a Madripoor under Reaver lockdown, through the casino in disguise, the Sentinel attack on Lowtown and the Sabretooth fight to the final battle with Essex. It holds 4 Nightmare Doors, 15 Material Crates and 5 Whisky Bottles, all in Missions 22 to 24, 27 and 28.
Spoiler warning: this chapter is the end of the story. Each mission below says what to do; the twists are kept short, and the ending itself is on Ending Explained.
The last chapter of Marvel's Wolverine brings Logan and Jean back from Japan to a Madripoor under Reaver lockdown and runs nine missions, 22 to 30: a street revolt in Lowtown, a casino job in disguise, a Sentinel attack on the city, the Sabretooth fight, a mission inside Logan's own past, and the road to the final battle with Essex. Its 4 Nightmare Doors, 15 Material Crates and 5 Whisky Bottles all sit in five of the nine missions, and the last four have none. IGN Guides' recorded run of the chapter with every collectible, the hidden trial included, lasts 4 hours 25 minutes. The clip is that run as Logan decides Essex is the one hiding something.

PowerPyx files all nine missions under a second Madripoor chapter; KeenGamer places Mission 29 in Shinjuku (more on that under Mission 29). Where each collectible sits: Material Crate Locations, Whisky Bottle Locations, Nightmare Doors and Trials.
Mission 22: Way Down Low
What happens. Logan and Jean slip into Lowtown inside cargo crates. Since Essex and Victor came back, Reavers stop people at checkpoints and take the dormant mutants away in trucks, and a Lowtown contact sent by Callisto knows where the Reavers took a pile of files on Essex: a lockup at Knife's Edge, near the clock tower. Getting them becomes a revolt. In IGN Guides' run Logan and Jean break the lockup, take the radio station, call Lowtown to rise up and then storm the Reavers' Arsenal, since "if we can liberate those weapons, it'll give the civilians a fighting chance."
What to do. Free the civilians from each checkpoint's truck, clear the checkpoints on the way to the clock tower, then find the high-ranking Reaver whose hand carries the lockup's key (Logan takes "the whole hand"). Cross the rooftops to the radio tower and shut down its operator, then hold the Arsenal gate while the locals arm themselves.
Collectibles: 1 Nightmare Door, 4 Material Crates, 2 Whisky Bottles, the most of the chapter.
Mission 23: Roll The Dice
What happens. The files say more about Essex than anyone at the Princess Bar expected, and Mystique is meeting him at a Hightown casino. Logan and Jean go in disguise; Logan's is Patch, which unlocks Undercover as soon as it appears. Inside, the job is to reach the penthouse: in IGN Guides' run they overhear that the meeting is up there and that a VIP who was thrown out still holds a key card, and Jean gets the slot machines to pay out so the jackpot frenzy covers the theft.
What to do. Walk the dance floor and listen to the guests for clues, follow the casino's back rooms, and fight the Reavers guarding the service section when the cover is blown; the route ends at the service elevator and a long climb when it fails. At the top is Mystique, with a fight against a VTOL and news that changes the next mission: Essex means to test something on Lowtown.
Collectibles: 1 Nightmare Door, 1 Material Crate, 1 Whisky Bottle.
Mission 24: Field Test
What happens. The test is Sentinels. Flying Sentinels snatch dormant mutants off Lowtown's streets while people shelter in the theater on Dream Street, and Logan and Jean split up: Jean holds the theater, Logan follows the kidnappings to the fish market, where the mutants are caged. In IGN Guides' run Logan frees the cages while Jean, alone at the theater, asks him to hurry.
What to do. Fight through the Sentinel groups to the fish market, break the cages, then cross the rooftops to the theater and destroy the turret vehicle outside. This is the first mission built around Sentinels as common enemies; see Enemies for how to fight them.
Collectibles: 0 Nightmare Doors, 2 Material Crates, 1 Whisky Bottle.
Mission 25: Red Right Hand
Logan corners Essex, and Essex sends Victor in his place, his lost arm back thanks to the Helix Engine: the Sabretooth fight. In AFGuidesHD's recording of it, Victor taunts Logan through the whole fight, blinds him partway through and stalks him while he cannot see, and heals through damage, so the fight is about parrying his long strings and spending Rage in the clean windows. Smash every vendor stall in the market during the fight for Harmer's Market, which PowerPyx says to start on at once; beating him earns Had To Put Him Down. Phases and tells are on Sabretooth Boss Fight. No collectibles.
Mission 26: Don't Go Gentle
What happens. Mission 26 is the story's turn, and it plays nothing like the rest of the game. Logan finds himself somewhere between memories, with a stranger telling him to "walk into the light", and the mission walks him through his own past to the truth about how Essex found him. It ends with the A Previous Life trophy and a Logan who knows what he is going after. What he learns is on Ending Explained.
What to do. Follow the paths; there is little fighting and nothing to collect. The final stretch is a ride and a run through a past that is coming apart.
Mission 27: I'm Still Here
What happens. Logan comes back to a Lowtown wrecked by the Sentinels, its streets full of the dead, and finds the mutants he knew have been taken. The first person he meets is Mystique, hiding out after Tyger threw her out; she says Jean came by looking for the others and went on alone. The mission is a long search through Sentinel patrols, Tyger's bar and a noodle bar to find Jean, then a fight to destroy the portals the Sentinels are using to carry mutants away.
What to do. Follow Jean's trail and expect a larger Sentinel fight near the end. Once the portals are down and the freed mutants are on a steamer out of Madripoor, follow Jean toward the power plant.
Collectibles: 1 Nightmare Door, 5 Material Crates, 1 Whisky Bottle, the chapter's largest crate count.
Mission 28: This Was The Dream
What happens. The way to Essex is to call in a Sentinel through the Reavers' master link and follow it to him. Inside, his lab shows what Essex has been doing to mutants all along, and an illusion greets Logan as a hero, with Leech cheering "Mr. Wolverine", before it turns: "This was the dream." The mission's end is Walter, and setting him free earns Small Mercies.
What to do. Fight the opening Reavers, ring the bells to climb the tower, then work through the facility and the Team X memories. KeenGamer's walkthrough lists the route in that order.
Collectibles: 1 Nightmare Door, 3 Material Crates, 0 Whisky Bottles.
Mission 29: No Coming Back
What happens. Essex has built Helix Sentinels and starts launching them through portals to cities around the world. In AFGuidesHD's recording, the first is sent to Tokyo; Logan and Jean break the power cells to stop the launches, cannot stop all of them, and go after Essex himself, with Shiro joining because "Tokyo's under attack by a giant robot". That would explain why KeenGamer places this mission in Shinjuku while PowerPyx keeps it in its Madripoor chapter: in that recording the mission starts at Essex's launch site, and the fight that follows has Tokyo's own Shiro in it.
The final boss. The fight is long and in phases. Essex has taken the powers of every mutant he harvested; parry his purple and yellow attacks to build stagger, dodge the red ones, and use Jean and Shiro's openings. Beating him earns A Sinister End and finishing the story One More Story. Every phase is on Mister Sinister Boss Fight. No collectibles.
Mission 30: Brave New World
The last mission is an epilogue in Lowtown: the world on the news trying to explain the robots that stopped all at once, and Logan's last scenes with Jean. There is nothing to fight and nothing to collect. What happens, the post-credits scene and what it sets up are on Ending Explained; what might come next is on Predictions.
After the story: Best There Is
Finishing the story leaves you in the Nightmare Cabin with every mission open for replay (New Game Plus and Mission Replay). One more trial waits there: Nightmare Trial 15, "Best There Is". PowerPyx says to finish all 14 doors' trials at Bronze or better, then Bronze the 15th and follow the scent trail it leaves to the hidden memory, which earns Repressed Memories; the trial ranks are on Nightmare Doors and Trials.
We think Missions 22 and 23 are the high point of the whole game's level design, a street revolt and a heist, while 27 and 28 are where the repetition shows: long Sentinel fights between short story scenes. Our advice for a first run is to collect as you go in 22, 23 and 27, which hold 17 of the chapter's 24 collectibles, and not to stop in 28, whose crates are easy to come back for once you know what happens.
