Collectibles

Marvel's Wolverine has 102 collectibles in three types, 68 Material Crates, 20 Whisky Bottles and 14 Nightmare Doors, spread over 19 of its 30 missions. Crates pay for suits (and with them Logan's health), bottles and Nightmare Trials raise his Adaptation Level, none can be missed, and Mission Select cleans up whatever you pass by.

Marvel's Wolverine has 102 collectibles: 68 Material Crates, 20 Whisky Bottles and 14 Nightmare Doors, by PowerPyx's Sep 14, 2026 count, which Push Square's guides match. Insomniac's features trailer names all three and the sense that finds each: Logan uses his senses "to discover nightmare doors, sniff out whiskey bottles, or listen for material caches", and the suits the crates pay for "earn health upgrades". This page is the overview: what each type gives you, how many sit in each mission, and how to find them faster. The exact spot of every one is on Whisky Bottle Locations, Material Crate Locations and Nightmare Doors and Trials.

Quick facts

Missable None: Mission Select replays any mission
Trophies tied to them Crate Collector, But a Dram, Full Barrel, Pathways of the Mind, Repressed Memories, Adamantium Armory, Secondary Mutations
Time for all of them About 15 to 20 hours with the story (PowerPyx)

What each collectible gives you

IGN's Simon Cardy sums up the loop in his Sep 10, 2026 review: every linear level holds "material caches required to unlock new outfits", while AP, the points that buy Adaptations, comes from two places only, "collecting whiskey bottles and completing nightmare trials". He also notes that the trials pay more AP for higher scores.

  • Material Crates hold the materials that craft suits. Each new suit raises Logan's maximum health, and the Gold trophy Adamantium Armory asks for enough suits to max it out, which PowerPyx puts at 20 crafted standard suits (the Digital Deluxe suits do not count). GamingBolt estimates about 3,500 materials to craft every suit that costs them. Which suit costs what is on Suits and Claws.
  • Whisky Bottles raise Logan's Adaptation Level and each one carries a short story about a Team X member. All 20 unlock the Midnight suit and the Silver trophy Full Barrel.
  • Nightmare Doors lead into Logan's Nightmare Cabin and a timed or scored Nightmare Trial. Trials pay Adaptation progress, restore a memory, and three of them (the gauntlets) give claws and two suits at high ranks. Clearing every trial opens a hidden one and, after it, a hidden memory (what it shows is on Ending Explained).

Adaptations themselves (parry windows, damage taken and the rest) are on Skills: Techniques and Adaptations.

Collectibles by mission

The first true collectible comes early in Homecoming: in IGN Guides' Sep 15, 2026 run, Walter has moved Logan into a closet ("This ain't a room. It's a supply closet."), and the scent trail ends at the Uncanny Whisky bottle there. IGN Guides marks the lore objects before it as "not true collectibles", worth a little XP only.

The table is assembled from PowerPyx's guide and checked against the per-mission counts in IGN Guides' four region walkthroughs; the two agree on every mission. Missions not listed (1 to 3, 11, 13, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30) have none.

# Mission Region Doors Crates Bottles
4 Homecoming Canada 1 2 1
5 The One That Got Away Canada 1 4 1
6 Raise Some Hell Canada 1 4 1
7 Strays Canada 0 1 1
8 Something Much Stronger Canada 1 4 1
9 Knock Knock Madripoor 0 2 1
10 Mutant Detected Madripoor 1 4 1
12 One Last Mission Madripoor 1 3 1
14 Get Angry Japan 1 5 1
15 Bad Blood Japan 1 4 1
16 In the Shadows Japan 0 7 2
17 Death Comes to Death Japan 1 3 1
18 We Were Wrong Japan 0 5 1
19 Hell Followed With Him Japan 0 4 1
21 Sinister Tidings Japan 1 1 0
22 Way Down Low Madripoor (return) 1 4 2
23 Roll The Dice Madripoor (return) 1 1 1
24 Field Test Madripoor (return) 0 2 1
27 I'm Still Here Madripoor (return) 1 5 1
28 This Was The Dream Madripoor (return) 1 3 0
Total 14 68 20

By region that is Canada 4 doors, 15 crates and 5 bottles; the first Madripoor visit 2, 9 and 3; Japan 4, 29 and 7; the return to Madripoor 4, 15 and 5. Japan alone holds 43% of the crates, and In the Shadows, with 7 crates and 2 bottles, is the densest single mission. The route through every mission is on Walkthrough and Mission List.

How to find them faster

Logan's senses point at each type: a blue scent line leads to Whisky Bottles, a sound and a blue sphere give away a crate, and purple roots grow toward a Nightmare Door. Some crates and one bottle sit behind keypads whose codes Logan sniffs out; in IGN Guides' Madripoor run he says "Found a panel. Got to figure out the code" at the first of them, in Mutant Detected.

  • Senses toggles. Update 1.001.006 (Sep 28, 2026) added Settings > Gameplay > Senses switches for the Whisky Bottle scent trails, Material Crate audio clues and Nightmare Door roots. Turn them off for a cleaner screen on a first run and back on for cleanup. The full patch story is on Patches and Updates.
  • Finder Adaptations. The Whisky Finder and Crate Finder Adaptations mark bottles and crates through walls and, per the same patch notes, override the toggles.
  • Collectibles shader. PowerPyx points to an accessibility option, Settings > Visuals > Collectibles and Interact Shader, that outlines collectibles in the world.
  • Keypad codes. Mutant Detected uses 0514, 0291 and 5413 and Bad Blood's penthouse uses 1924 (PowerPyx; IGN Guides' chapter markers show the same codes).
  • The tracker. Each mission's count shows in the pause menu and in Mission Select, so you can see what a mission still holds before replaying it.

Nothing is missable

Every collectible can be picked up after the story. Mission replay lives in Logan's Nightmare Cabin, which the game introduces in Homecoming, and PowerPyx reports that chapter select opens after the second Nightmare Door, in The One That Got Away, keeping what you already collected. How replay and New Game Plus work is on New Game Plus and Mission Replay.

You also do not need all 102 for every reward. PowerPyx's trophy guide says roughly 15 of 20 bottles and 10 of 14 doors are enough for Adaptation Level 10 (the trophy Secondary Mutations), while Crate Collector, Full Barrel and Pathways of the Mind each want the full set of their type. The trophy-by-trophy route is on Trophy Guide and Platinum.

We think the best order is to play the story with the toggles on but without detours, then clean up mission by mission with the Finder Adaptations equipped: by then Logan's damage makes the replays short, and IGN's reviewer needed only "four to five hours" of extra play after the story for nearly everything (see How Long to Beat).
