How Long to Beat

Marvel's Wolverine's story takes about 11 to 15 hours: two recorded no-commentary runs finished in 11 hours 23 minutes and 11 hours 52 minutes, and IGN's reviewer called it a 15-hour string of missions. Everything, all 102 collectibles and the platinum, takes about 15 to 20 hours.

Marvel's Wolverine takes about 11 to 15 hours to finish the story and about 15 to 20 hours to do everything. IGN's Simon Cardy, reviewing it on Sep 10, 2026, describes "Wolverine's 15-hour string of missions"; two creators' complete no-commentary videos of the game, cutscenes included, run 11 hours 23 minutes (Shirrako, Sep 14, 2026) and 11 hours 52 minutes (MKIceAndFire, Sep 15, 2026). PowerPyx puts the platinum at 15 to 20 hours, and IGN's reviewer had his after about 20. It is a linear game of 30 missions, not an open world, so there is little side content to stretch a run.

Quick facts

Main story About 11 to 15 hours
Fastest recorded full run we found 11:22:56 (Shirrako, no commentary, Sep 14, 2026)
Second recorded full run 11:52:17 (MKIceAndFire, no commentary, Sep 15, 2026)
IGN review "15-hour string of missions" (Sep 10, 2026)
Story plus all collectibles About 15 to 20 hours (PowerPyx)
Platinum 15 to 20 hours (PowerPyx); about 20 (IGN)
After the story, for the platinum "Four to five hours" (IGN)
Missions 30, in five regions
New Game Plus Optional, adds a second run

How long is the story?

The two complete runs above are the best measure we have, because a single video holds the whole game from the first mission to the credits with nothing skipped. They agree within half an hour: 11:22:56 and 11:52:17. Both are skilled players who know where to go, so a first-time player who explores, dies now and then and reads the lore objects should expect more. IGN's "15-hour" figure is a reviewer's first run with time spent on collectibles along the way, and we think it is the right number for most players who stop for some bottles and crates without hunting all of them.

Difficulty matters too: on the lowest setting, "The Man", Logan cannot be knocked out (PowerPyx), which removes retries, while the highest, The Best There Is, is what IGN Guides played for the 100% videos below. Settings are on Difficulty Settings and Accessibility.

How long for 100% and the platinum?

After the story, Cardy "felt compelled to go back through each level and clean them all up, earning a platinum trophy after just 20 hours." PowerPyx's roadmap gives 15 to 20 hours for the whole list: the story with collectibles (the bulk), 5 to 10 minutes for the hidden memory, and 10 to 60 minutes of cleanup.

In the talk after the review, Cardy says he had "already got 84% of the trophies" when the story ended and needed "four to five hours of extra stuff", mostly material caches, whisky bottles and doing a move a set number of times. The trophy list and route are on Trophy Guide and Platinum, and the collectibles on Collectibles.

Vi.ki's count: IGN Guides' 100% runs

IGN Guides recorded the whole game region by region on the hardest difficulty, The Best There Is, collecting all 102 collectibles and playing every Nightmare Trial to Adamantium. Adding up the five videos (our sum, from their lengths on YouTube as of Nov 8, 2026):

Region Missions Video length
Telambang 1 to 3 59:43
Canada 4 to 8 2:31:19
Madripoor 9 to 12 1:53:02
Japan 14 to 21 3:26:17
Back to Madripoor 22 to 30, epilogue, "Best There Is" 4:25:20
Total 13:15:41

That is about 13 and a quarter hours of footage for a 100% run on the hardest setting, with every trial at the top rank: a little under two hours more than the plain story runs above. Videos can be trimmed, so treat it as a floor for a 100% run, not a stopwatch; it still lines up with PowerPyx's 15 to 20 hours once a first-timer's searching is added. The region lengths also show where the time goes: Japan and the return to Madripoor are more than half the game.

The last of those videos runs to the epilogue and then the hidden 15th Nightmare Trial, which is where a 100% run ends.

What players did, by estimate

Alinea Analytics, a firm that estimates rather than measures, said on Oct 14, 2026 that about two-thirds of buyers had played at least 10 hours and 54% more than 15 hours (Tech4Gamers). Sony has published no playtime data. We read those estimates as a sign that most buyers played well into a 12 to 15 hour story. Sales figures are on Sales.

Is it long enough?

We think the length suits the game. Reviewers split on the combat's staying power (Cardy felt he "had my fill" halfway through, see Reviews), and a linear, set-piece-heavy story is better at 12 to 15 hours than stretched with open-world filler. Players who want more have New Game Plus with a level cap of 40 and Nightmare Trials to rank up; see New Game Plus and Mission Replay and Nightmare Doors and Trials. The mission-by-mission route is on Walkthrough and Mission List.
