Voice Cast
Liam McIntyre voices and performs Logan in Marvel's Wolverine, the only cast member PlayStation has officially named; press coverage confirms Krizia Bajos as Jean Grey, Troy Baker as Nathaniel Essex, Nicole Pacent as Mystique and Brett Gipson as Sabretooth, and the rest of the cast is so far only listed by guide sites.
Liam McIntyre plays Logan in Marvel's Wolverine, both his voice and his full performance capture. The Australian actor, best known as the lead of the TV series Spartacus, introduced himself to BBC News on Sep 14, 2026 with his other credits, "the Flash and Gears of War and Star Wars things". PlayStation named him as Logan when the game was shown on Sep 24, 2025. Around him, press coverage has confirmed four more leads: Krizia Bajos as Jean Grey, Troy Baker as Nathaniel Essex, Nicole Pacent as Mystique and Brett Gipson as Sabretooth.
As of Nov 8, 2026, neither PlayStation nor Insomniac has published a full cast list, so this page separates the names confirmed by a maker or by the press from those only listed by guide sites. Who each character is in the story is on Characters.

How Liam McIntyre got the part
Insomniac says it was looking for an actor "who can convey a lot with very little being spoken". In its first featurette, the team describes seeing "so much emotion" behind McIntyre's eyes in the first gameplay shot, relentless and angry but "maybe a little sad", and says Insomniac and Marvel agreed: "he's the one. We don't need to see anybody else."
McIntyre's own version is more dramatic. He told BBC News he watched the 2021 teaser and sat up in his chair wanting to play the game, then missed his audition "cuz the plane was late". He was squeezed into the last session of the last day, and months later was told he had the job.
He credits Troy Baker, Essex in the game, with part of it. The two are friends, and McIntyre says that, as he understands it, Baker and Travis Willingham recommended him to the team, so he may be "indebted to him for my whole life".
A smaller detail from the same interview: before acting, McIntyre was an assistant manager at an EB Games store in the early 2000s, and he calls games "the language I've spoken as long as I could remember".
Following Hugh Jackman
McIntyre follows Hugh Jackman on film and voice actors such as Cal Dodd, the 1990s animated series' Wolverine, and Steve Blum. At San Diego Comic-Con he told IGN he could not copy any of them: Jackman is "a generation's Wolverine" and Dodd is "my Wolverine from when I first found it". His lane is a Logan split between a man "trying to be better" and "this sort of beast inside him" pulling the other way.
To BBC News he said that after Spartacus, where he took over the lead after Andy Whitfield's death, he decided that trying to copy another actor was not the way to honor them; only once filming was over did following Jackman start to feel daunting.
Reviews were kinder to the performances than to the game. IGN's review, which scored the game 6, said McIntyre's performance "grants Logan a personality to match his trademark blades", and GamingBolt said he "comes remarkably close" to Jackman. More are on Reviews.
Jean Grey, Essex, Mystique and Sabretooth
Krizia Bajos, who plays Jean, joined McIntyre at Comic-Con on Jul 26, 2026. Asked what stood out on the motion-capture stage, she named the way McIntyre "would go feral": it gave her goosebumps to see "this sweet angel of a man" turn into something she feared. McIntyre said he studied rabid dogs, and the commute on Los Angeles' 405 freeway, for Logan's berserker rage.
IGN's Aug 13, 2026 preview named the other three. Its writer saw a little of "Troy Baker's Nathaniel Essex", calling it shaping up to be "another memorable and nuanced performance in his stacked resume", and looked forward to seeing where Nicole Pacent and Brett Gipson take Mystique and Sabretooth. Baker is one of the best known actors in games, the voice of Joel in The Last of Us.
How the performances were recorded
The cast performed in full motion capture. In Insomniac's Oct 16, 2026 featurette, McIntyre describes suiting up, the team checking the computer reads his data, and then reading "a very hilarious nursery rhyme" on the stage, the volume, because it makes every mouth shape the facial capture needs.
The team wanted "a more human, more grounded version of Logan", and says McIntyre chose to play not "the gravelly voice man" but someone with pain inside. The cinematics were shot "in a more subjective way", holding longer on takes to stay inside the moment with him. The same video shows the motorcycle chase captured on a proxy bike, with actors leaning on cue.
The violence was shared out. McIntyre told IGN that "an amazing stunt team", including Seth Austin, did most of his stunts, and that sessions went like "How have we already disemboweled people?" as they hunted for new kills.
McIntyre says the cast keeps a WhatsApp group and planned to mark launch together, celebrating "all the hard work we've done over these 5 years". His hope, he said, is that he made the game his younger self wanted to play when he saw the teaser.
Languages
The game is voiced in Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian and Spanish (Spain and Mexico), per PlayStation as of Nov 8, 2026. The launch-day update 1.001.004 fixed English voices not playing on consoles set to another language (MP1st, Sep 15, 2026); the rest of the patch history is on Patches and Updates.
We think McIntyre is the safest part of Insomniac's plans for a sequel: reviewers who disliked the game still praised him, and in our view a studio rarely recasts a lead whose performance came through a mixed launch so well. We also think Krizia Bajos is the cast's breakout, because the game's twist rests on her Jean, and we expect her to be named as Jean in any sequel's first trailer.
