Trailers
Marvel's Wolverine has had about a dozen official trailers and featurettes, from the Sep 9, 2021 reveal teaser to the Oct 16, 2026 motion-capture featurette. The ones that show real gameplay are the Sep 24, 2025 gameplay trailer, the Jun 2, 2026 extended gameplay reveal and the Aug 28, 2026 Game Features trailer.
Marvel's Wolverine has been shown in about a dozen official trailers and featurettes over five years, and the one to watch first is the extended gameplay reveal of Jun 2, 2026: seven and a half minutes of uninterrupted play that ends with Logan freeing caged mutants ("Let's get you guys out of here") and a child asking him, "Are you a superhero?" This page lists every trailer in date order with what it showed. PlayStation's own YouTube uploads of these trailers are age-restricted and do not play for viewers who are not signed in, so the moments here play the copies posted by Marvel Entertainment, IGN and GameSpot, which are the same videos. The studio's side of these years is on Insomniac Games; launch dates are on Release Date and Launch.

The 2021 reveal teaser
The first trailer, shown at PlayStation Showcase on Sep 9, 2021 straight after Marvel's Spider-Man 2, is 45 seconds long and has no gameplay. A man in a plaid shirt sits alone at a dim bar; the camera closes on his hands on the wood, and the claws slide out. Then the title. It named no year, and it was the last anyone saw of the game for four years.
Sep 24, 2025: the gameplay trailer
The second showing, at a State of Play, was the first gameplay. In about a minute and three quarters it cuts between Wolverine slashing through soldiers in an industrial yard, riding a motorcycle through a forest, fighting in deep snow and brawling in a plaid shirt through a crowded street market. The PlayStation Blog post set "Fall 2026", named Liam McIntyre as Logan and showed the cover art made with the comic artist Jock.
The same day brought the four-and-a-half-minute "Behind The Claws" featurette. Its most quoted lines are about places and faces: "You'll see the Canadian wilderness. You'll see Japan", a shot of Logan sliding down a rooftop in Lowtown, and "Omega Red makes an [appearance]. Mystique is there", with hints at other characters fans would recognize. McIntyre introduces himself in it as the man who plays "James Logan Howlett".
Feb 24, 2026: the release date
A six-second clip on Insomniac's channels gave the date: "Let's cut to the chase: Marvel's Wolverine launches September 15, 2026," as Game Informer reported. It is too short to play as a moment here.
Jun 2, 2026: the extended gameplay reveal
The longest look at the game before launch, shown at the June State of Play, starts with a hunt for "the redhead" through an industrial park: Logan stalks the guards one at a time while their radio checks go unanswered ("Control, come in." "No answer"). After he finds Jean, the two fight through a Trask yard, and the clip at the top of this page is its ending. We think it is still the best single video for judging whether you will like the game, because it shows both halves, stalking and open fights, without cuts.
Jul 16 and Jul 23, 2026: the story trailers
"Ain't No Hero" is a mood piece over Logan's own voice: "I've lived long enough. It's all started to blur together. Every fight. Every death", and "I'm trying to hold on, but I can feel it slipping away. Who I am." It sets up the memory thread that runs through Story.
The Comic-Con story trailer of Jul 23 puts names to the conflict: a voice says "Humans and mutants can't survive together", Trask is named, and a mutant says "We were going to build the future for mutants." A later line, "Tell the beast. The hand is ready", was the first hint of the Hand's role in Japan. Who these people are is on Characters.
Aug 20, 2026: the Digital Deluxe trailer
Thirty-two seconds of suits, each named on screen as Logan fights in it: New Leather, Age of Apocalypse, Savage, Night Hunt and Incredible. Prices are on Editions and Price; every suit is on Suits and Claws.
Aug 28, 2026: the Game Features trailer
The most useful trailer for players, and the source for much of this viki: Liam McIntyre walks through combat, Rage, Adaptations, the four regions, collectibles, suits, New Game Plus and photo mode in four minutes. It closes on accessibility, "over 100 settings" with audio, visual and motor presets, and filters "for dynamic blood, dismemberment, and adult language" (see Difficulty Settings and Accessibility). Its villain lineup names Omega Red and Lady Deathstrike.
Sep 3 to 4, 2026: the launch trailer
Shown in a State of Play and posted by Marvel Entertainment the next day, the launch trailer is about Trask: "Trask hates us. Not for what we are, but what we represent", ending on a machine voice saying "Mutant detected". Some viewers felt the September State of Play showed too much: on IGN's Beyond podcast, hosts who had finished the game said they were bummed it spoiled so many late-game moments and set pieces. If you have not played, we would skip the launch trailer.
Sep 10, 2026: the live-action trailer
A one-minute live-action spot ("It ain't about having powers. It's about taking a stand") went up on PlayStation's channel on review day. We found no copy outside PlayStation's channel, so it has no moment here.
Oct 16, 2026: the motion-capture featurette
The latest official video as of Nov 8, 2026 is a five-minute look at the capture stage. Its best detail is the motorcycle chase: the stage has no room for a real bike, so the team built a proxy motorcycle, told the actor when to lean left, lean right and skid, and moved him through space in animation; a single move often blends keyframes and stunt data. McIntyre admits his "personal quest" was to do as many of his own flips as the crew would allow. The chase itself is in Canada Walkthrough (Missions 4 to 8); the actors are on Voice Cast.
Which trailers are spoiler-free?
We think everything up to and including the Game Features trailer of Aug 28, 2026 is safe. The launch trailer and the September State of Play footage show late-game moments, and the motion-capture featurette describes a scene from the second half. Nothing in any trailer shows the ending itself; that is on Ending Explained.
